Corporate Finance · M&A Advisory · Structured Capital
Mid-market M&A and structured capital, executed across the Atlantic.
A boutique practice serving sponsor-backed companies and the investors who own them, between Europe and North America.
Practice
What the practice does.
Contrade Capital advises mid-market companies and the investors who back them — on acquisitions, sales, recapitalizations, and the structured capital that sits between debt and equity. Most engagements turn on the parts of a process that decide it: the structuring, the negotiation, the close.
Two decades in the mid-market, much of it in mezzanine and subordinated debt, stand behind the practice, along with a network that runs both ways across the Atlantic. Italian and Dutch capital meets Canadian operators; Canadian sponsors meet European platforms. The introductions are personal. Judgment on who sits across the table matters more than any process.
Engagements are direct, senior-led, and held in confidence.
Track Record
Two decades on the deal table.
Team
A team built around the deal.
Contrade Capital builds the right team around each deal. Not a fixed roster — every engagement draws the people it needs: legal counsel, accountants, sector specialists, assembled for the transaction in front of them.
Behind the practice are two decades in the mid-market, much of it in the mezzanine layer of the capital stack, and a network that reaches both sides of the Atlantic. Italian, Dutch, and Canadian relationships — the connections that let a cross-border deal actually move.
Introductions are personal. Senior judgment stays on the deal from the first conversation to the close, and the work is held in confidence.
Mid-market deals rarely fail for lack of ambition. They fail in the hard middle — capital that won't fit between debt and equity, a cross-border gap where neither side has closed before, decisions made late and under pressure. Contrade Capital is built for that middle. Not counsel in the abstract — a team that closes.
